So January is coming to an end and that means we are one step close to spring which means drinking in the day burning things on a BBQ. I have been busy writing a couple of demos this month and they seem to be in the style of country pop aka Taylor Swift and are available on my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Keirmoore1?feature=mhee and if you fancy writing some lyrics and have the ability to record some vocals then please feel free to get in touch as this would be great. There is another on on the way and there should also be a couple more backing tracks going soon which i think we be along the lines of an 80's power ballad and a blues one so will keep you posted (who ever you is). I have also re recorded an instrumental track that i have recorded and hopefully have a very good drummer friend of mine putting some live drums on so i can see how it sounds. When i get a sec i will also work on the other tracks and try and work to getting them all together on Keirs album of shred. I also had the joy of spending some time with the hugely talented and very close friend that is Kelli Leigh. After finishing a world tour and acting like a rock star singing BV's for someone called Adele she came round for tea and we wrote a song. Please check her out at http://www.kellileigh.com/ Lastly be sure to pledge and check out the might that is Ginger ( The Wildhearts ). He has been writing a super triple album that is paid for by us the fans and i think you should al go and pledge now. I will not try and explain what it is about but go here and discover for yourself how you can get involved with quite frankly one of the most talented song writers that had ever lived. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/gingerwildheart Enjoy your self's and have a good feb. K Add Comment Hey all i have just uploaded a funk backing track on to my youtube channel which can be viewed and jammed along here. http://www.youtube.com/user/Keirmoore1?feature=mhee Thanks K Good day to you all hope you all had a productive weekend. I had the pleasure of going to a brilliant night organised by a dear friend of mine Dr Christopher Holmes and his trusty side kick George (i do not believe he has a sir name since his move into the witness protection programme!) which involved watching Stanley Kubrick's film 2001 A Space Odyssey to the backdrop of some hardcore drum and bass. Good fun was had by all and congrats to the boys for there efforts, the added bonus of this was that on my drunken way home i bumped into the awesome guitarist Phil Hilborne - http://www.philhilborne.com/ who was on his way home from playing We Will Rock You and what a top bloke he was. I am writing this blog to inform you that i have put a new lesson up on the website that is about all things fast and melodic and by this i mean string skipped tapped arpeggios. This is a great way to add some fast but melodic licks into your playing and cover some large intervals in the process. As with all the lessons is the full tab and notation, full lesson, break down of each lick and audio examples at both slow and full speed. Enjoy and if you have any comments or thoughts fill free to get in contact. Thanks K I have been working for some time on getting some lessons up on the website and now the first of many is here. This lesson came about from chatting to students who had started playing guitar a little later in life and wanted something easy but effective in getting them to play the blues quickly. My new lesson will show you the basic chord shapes you need to play a 12 bar blues, how to play a minor 12 bars and how to play in several different keys. Its aimed at the beginners level but you can all ways try part 2 (coming soon) that will introduce you to string bending and scales. I will soon be putting up lessons covering jazz chord progressions, string skipped arpeggios and alternate picking for all the shredders out there so axes at the ready! It is all ways helpful to have your feedback so let me know what think or if there are any topics you would like covered. The backing tracks that are appearing on my youtube videos will also be available for purchase soon in bundles of 4 or 5 tracks but i will keep you posted about this. The lessons will be available in the Lesson- Shop section of the website at the top of the page. All the best. Thanks. K A very happy new year to you all, i hope you are all suitably stuffed and like me are filled with a fear of dread and excitement at the new year. I have made sure that i have set my self some projects to keep me busy through the wind and the rain of January and some of these include collaborating with a amazingly talented photographer friend of mine by the name of Chris O Donovan http://www.chrisodonovan.com/ . We are looking at how we can combine our creative talents together to document the arts scene in suburbia of south east London. The plan has somewhat been forgotten after one to many gins last night but i think the idea is that myself and a lot of my friends are creative people and we all strived to make creativity our job but some where in the process we lost the ability to be creative ( ah the tortured artsit, thankfully i still have both my ears though). I will keep you updated on this project of positivity and if you are in a similar boat or think you can bring something to the table then please get in contact. Also this year i am hoping to get a small jazz trio together and to get some more students as there are a couple of gaps in my teaching window so feel free to get in contact if you are after lessons. Happy new year and will keep you updated on "The Project"! K Hi one and all here is the funk backing track i have written for my MooreMusix website which will hopefully be coming soon. I was just jamming and pulling faces over it so hope you enjoy. Thanks K I have just been scouring youtube and found a brilliant live version of "I am Here" which i co wrote with the amazing Kelli Leigh. This video was from her amazing EP launch and we all had a great night and the band were fantastic. Be sure to check her out at http://www.kellileigh.com/ Enjoy. K Here is a little Christmas present from me to the world wide web. I do not profess to be a solo jazz guitar player but i hope you will enjoy. If you enjoy this may i suggest you check out the following or actually anything by the amazing much missed Ted Green. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21Af0_6Bv6w Hi there (assuming there is some one there) all and welcome to my blog. As a new boy to blogging i am not sure what go's here and therefor will be making things up and bumbling along my way unless i hear otherwise. So the merry season is upon us and now that the booze has all been drunk and the quality street have been eaten i thought i better get back to some guitar playing but what to play. I find that it takes any fibre in my puny body to sit down and really take the time to practice something and not just shred over Malmsteen records but i think i will ease my self in by playing along to the rather brilliant new album i have got for Christmas and that is Dont Explain by Beth Hart and Joe Bonnamasa, a tour deforce of old jazz and blues numbers with exceptionally good vocals and guitar work. I suggest you check it out ASAP if you like some old skool. I have also decided to record a couple of videos of me playing along to some new backing tracks i have written and to dazzle the dark world of youtube with my playing and face pulling. If you like the track get in contact and would be happy to e mail it over to you. It will be part of my new website called MooreMusix that will comprise of articles covering all things guitar. Well thats it first one done and hopefully you will come back again and get involved with said blog and feel free to let me know if there is anything i should be looking out for guitar or Start blogging by creating a new post.
